Sci-Fi Music[]
Humanity views Time as a linear measurement. In reality, Time is actually one of three major planes that contain all of known existence. The majority of the events of Sci-Fi Music take place in the Time Plane of Existence.
Discovery & History[]
Fifty Billion Earth-Years Ago
Millions of light-years from Earth, a small group of scientists from the planet Novita discovered a strange energy signature emanating from their galaxy’s black hole. They deemed it research-worthy after detecting antimatter near the center of the energy signature. Probes were sent into deep space to get a closer look at the energy source. The Novita scientists calculated that the black hole’s Event Horizon spanned two light-years; therefore, it would be safe to view the energy source just outside of that distance.
Using a plasma fuel source, he scientists created a nearly unlimited fuel source for the probes’ over-sized thrusters to compensate for the expected gravitational pull of the black hole. However, the scientists found themselves astonished once the probes reached their destination. The probes weren’t measuring the amount of massive gravitational waves that the scientists expected. In fact, the probes were measuring zero gravity. At this proximity to the black hole, the probes’ instruments should have detected an array of the gravitational waves.
Confused by the lack of gravitational waves, the scientists directed the probes to move closer to the strange energy source. The instruments had gotten within five-thousand miles of the energy signature before they detected faint, barely-measurable gravitational waves. However, as they took a closer look at the data, they calculated the center of the waves’ mass to be over a light-year beyond the probes’ current location.
The scientists were befuddled, as they struggled to explain how the gravitational waves appeared to extend from a light-year beyond the signature’s boundaries. They became further perplexed when all of the probes simply vanished upon reaching the energy signature. The Novitan scientific community splintered over the next five years, as scientists across the planet struggled to create a plausible theory to explain the probes’ disappearance. Finally, the Scientific Authority of Novita declared that the probes had not disappeared, but had been destroyed by gravitational waves that their instruments had failed to detect.
One year later, a young scientist named Linius began to re-examine the strange energy signature. The available data had already indicated the presence of antimatter, so Linius expanded the search field to include atomic, subatomic, quantum, and absolute-quantum particles. He was shocked when the data indicated that the energy signature contained a massive amount of neutrinos. This indicated the energy source was ultra-radioactive.
The neutrinos also exhibited another strange attribute. They transformed into electrons, and then back into neutrinos, nearly twice every nanosecond. The particles also emitted a strange type of aerosol, which indicated that they were porous. Knowing that neutrinos were not porous, nor did they carry an electric charge, Linius began to suspect that these particles were not neutrinos, but an undiscovered particle. This led Linius to theorize that the energy source was some sort of gateway.
Linius suggested that the probes had not disappeared, but were transported into another universe. The scientific community of Novita began to ridicule the young scientist’s findings, calling it a work of fiction. They put out a collaborative statement, saying that it was “only possible for a neutrino to become a lepton, not an electron. The inverse is also true. This is supported by more than two thousand years of extensive matter and particle research by the Novitan Science Authority. There is zero possibility that the data, as described by Linius, is accurate.”
However, the statement didn’t discourage Linius from continuing his research. The Novitan World Council refused to fund his laboratory, deferring to the opinions of the Scientific Authority. This forced Linius to turn to an unlikely source to achieve his funding goals, the Novitan Film Industry. After promising exclusive rights to a film based on his research, Linius secured research funds from Radialis, Novita’s largest film studio.
Over the next ten years, Linius oversaw three missions to probe the energy source, with each one ending with the same results as the scientists’ first mission. Radialis threatened to cut Linius’ fund, unless results were achieved with the next mission. But, Linius believed his theory was a fact. That led him to plan the first manned mission to the energy signature. The Novitan scientific community portrayed him as a mad scientist; even the Radialis executives thought Linius was out of his mind. However, they agreed to fund a manned mission, because they were desperately seeking a return on the investment that was bankrupting their movie studio.
One year later, Linius and a crew of two-hundred engineers, physicists, and scientists boarded the Novis Initilis, a twenty-mile long Novitan Galaxy worldship. As the Novis Initilis began its final approach to the wormhole, Linius contacted Radialis executives through a holographic data bridge that had been built for this mission. Both parties agreed to this stipulation, just in case the Novis Initiis was destroyed, Radialis would still have the visual data from the mission.
When the ship reached the wormhole, Linius’ stared at the Novis Initilis’ hull cameras as the dark matter of Novitan space began to swirl into a purplish hue. Debris began to circulate around the swirling dark matter, as it organized to resemble the eye of a hurricane. Linius realized that he was staring at his theorized wormhole. In an attempt to escape the growing amount of massive gravitational waves, he increased the propulsion of the ship’s over-sized thrusters.
The resulting force was sufficient enough to prevent the ship from imploding, but the gravitational waves were too strong to prevent the Novis Initilis from being pulled into the portal. However, Linius became excited when he looked through the wormhole and saw a large platform floating in space on the other side of the portal. He ran to the holographic data bridge and screamed to the Radialis executives.
“We are entering the wormhole! I was right! I was...”
The crew of the Novis Initilis was never seen again. Radialis scored a world record in box office sales for their ensuing epic, Linius, based upon the final journey of the worldship.
After passing through the wormhole, Linius checked the ship’s measuring instruments only to find that the gravitational waves had disappeared along with the wormhole. Linius rushed to the bridge, only to find the remainder of the crew huddled in a panic. The ship’s chief engineer, Orcus, silently pointed outside of the ship’s front hull at the huge platform that was floating in space. Linius noticed that the platform didn’t appear to have a foundation, and extended into space as far as the eye could see.
Linius directed the ship’s chief pilot, Domini, to land on the platform. After checking the ship’s external atmospheric monitors, the crew deemed it safe to exit the ship.
Linius noticed a smaller elevated platform not too far from the ship. There was also a large control panel on the elevated platform. Linius’ curiosity got the best of him, so he walked toward the platform. He figured, at the very least, maybe the control panel could tell them more about this bizarre new universe they were in.
When he stepped onto the platform, an endless array of holographic monitors came to life. The displays showed an infinite number of planets that Linius didn’t recognize.
Is this the control center for the universe, Linius thought, smiling as he saw a display displaying the Novitan Solar System.
His smile disappeared as he realized that this wasn’t the Novita that the crew had left behind. The planet appeared to be barren and apocalyptic. Radioactive winds tore across the planet as if they were unaware of the gigantic buildings that obstructed their path.
What happened? Linius thought, as he turned around to see the crew staring at the display in horror.
“Linius, look!” Spatium yelled, while pointing to another display.
This display showed Novita as it was two hundred years ago. Billions of Novitans went about their daily business on the planet, unaware that they were being watched. Another monitor displayed the present-day galaxy that contained the Novian Star System. Linius watched in horror as he watched interstellar planets implode as they were pulled toward the galaxy’s black hole, empowered by residual massive gravitational waves that had been trapped in the galaxy when the wormhole closed.
Novita was near the edge of the galaxy, so it would take thousands of years for the planet to reach the point of implosion. But, its nearest star would be pulled into the black hole’s gravitational pull centuries before that happened, starving the planet’s atmosphere of the energy that it needed to sustain life. The crew remained silent, realizing that their ambition had destroyed their home planet.
But, why show the past, present, and future? Linius thought, pausing as he remembered a theory that he read during his studies at the Academy of Novita’s Scientific Authority. The theory stated that time was actually nonlinear, and only existed as a linear container within a sentient being’s mind, in order to make sense of sequential events. In reality, everything that has happened, happening, and will happen is occurring at the same moment in an endless sequence. The Scientific Authority had dismissed the theory, declaring time was linear.
They dismissed my theory too, Linius thought, as he recalled his disdain for the Scientific Authority.
At the same time, Linius was filled with excitement from this discovery. He inadvertently stepped on a foot switch, which caused the floor of the main platform to open. The crew watched in amazement as a large machine began to appear from underneath the platform. The machine appeared to have an infinite number of small pods attached to a large tube that protruded from the front of the machine. As Linius approached the machine, it suddenly came to life.
The central tube began to spin, as Linius felt himself being lifted off of the ground and pulled toward the machine. The central tube was actually a vacuum that sucked each member of Linius’ crew into a separate pod. Linius watched helplessly, as the pods began to fill with an unknown gas that rendered the crew members unconscious.
What have I done? Linius thought as he fell asleep.
The Time Dimension[]
Linius felt different as stepped onto the platform. His pod was the first to open, and in contrast to the crew’s arrival, he now knew everything about his surroundings, with the exception of the dimension’s creators. He walked to the control panel on the floating platform, which he learned was called the Parallel Platform, and looked out into space. Linius was shocked to learn that one hundred-thousand years had passed since the Novis Initilis passed through the wormhole.
Linius realized that the machine, which was actually a component of an immense Artificial Intelligence called the Deus Infero, had placed them into a cryogenic state in order to allow evolution to occur naturally. Meanwhile, it began the work of modifying their native genomes using an advanced form of biomolecular technology. The Deus Infero had also implanted huge volumes of cosmic knowledge into their memories, which was how the Novitans achieved Cosmic Awaeness.
The place they were in was called the Time Dimension, which was a region within Abyssum, the expanse in between Time and Space. Linius also learned that his final realization was true, time was indeed nonlinear. Long ago, billions of human-years before the Novis Initilis' fateful journey, a race of powerful cosmic beings created the Time Dimension. At some point in nonlinear history, some of the beings attempted to alter an historical event that almost reshaped the planes of Existence itself.
This attempt is what created the cosmic wormhole at the center of Novita’s galaxy. In order to save the continuity of Existence, the cosmic beings isolated themselves, and the alternate reality, into an inaccessible access point. This event created an entirely new plane of Existence known as Chaos. In order to preserve the Time Plane of Existence’s continuity, the beings sealed the gateway that connected Time to Chaos by creating an unbreachable cosmic boundary known as Finus Terminus.
The crew’s newly enhanced awareness made them aware of the full potential of their minds, bodies, abilities, and surroundings. Although one hundred-thousand years had passed, the crew had not aged one day. The Deus Infero had somehow deactivated the crew’s biological clocks at a sub-quantum level. This meant that while the crew weren’t indestructible, they were essentially immortal. Linius wondered how the machine had accomplished this, however its technology was schematically inaccessible to Linius.
He turned around to face the crew and realized that they also were aware of their new abilities. After a lengthy debate, they concluded that no one else could be aware of their existence. However, the task of protecting the continuity of Existence would now fall upon all of their shoulders. The crew decided to name their evolved species Piereus, because they no longer felt like Novitans in their evolved forms.
The crew also acknowledged that Linius was responsible for their evolution. As former scientists, they respected Linius for his tendency to take risks that none of them were willing to take, all in the name of science. This is what led to the Piereus appointing Linius as their leader. Next, they appointed a thirty-eight member council, with each council member serving as a guardian for each multiverse within the Time Plane of Existence. Finally, they created a covert enforcement unit called the Perlecti, whose sole task was to silently eliminate any imminent threat to Existence. This unit was led by the crew’s chief Science Strategist, Orcus.
The Piereus covertly protected the Time Plane of Existence for billions of human-years, until their race splintered, and suffered from the same infighting that plagued the lesser-evolved species of Existence. This civil war is what led to the division between Piereus and their enemies from the same species, the Mastigi.
The Emorti Escape[]
On October 31, 2015 EPY (Earth-Prime Year), there was a cosmic breach that created thousands of wormholes throughout the Time Plane of Existence. After an investigation by the youngest Piereus, Spatium, it was found that all of the Piereus were dead or missing, including the council. However, the wormhole that concerned him the most was a portal that appeared in the Time Dimension. This should not have been possible, as the Piereus had safeguards in place to disable access to the Time Dimension.
Spatium found his mentor - and Piereus leader, Linius, dead just inside the gateway that lead to the Dimensional Observatory's sub-levels. He rushed to the wormhole that led to the Emorti Dimension, only to find that the gateway had been breached. This meant that every prisoner that had threatened Time’s continuity was now free, including the Mastigi.
Spatium knew that this was not a miscalculation, or random event. This was orchestrated by someone. As Spatium had these thoughts, another wormhole opened in the Time Dimension. He was astonished to see a human being from Earth-Prime dive through the wormhole, as he rushed to close it.
That human would become to be known as the Cosmic Enforcer, Ambush Vin.
Enter Ambush Vin: Cosmic Enforcer[]
Vin, a Hip-Hop Artist from Earth-Prime, stopped at a fuel depot to purchase gas for his vehicle. The following is Ambush Vin’s recounting of the events that followed:
(Excerpt from Sci-Fi Music: The Darth Prefectus Saga):
"Yo, fam I got movies," the bearded man at the Citgo gas station exclaimed, "Four for Ten!"
"Nah," I responded, "I'm good but..." I continued, "that guy who was behind me in line just asked me if I knew someone selling movies."
"Good lookin' man," the movie hustler ran off. Shaking my head at the man's brazenness, I started walking to my car when...
"Yo, fam I got movies! Four for Ten!"
Huh?!
How did I get back in the gas station?
"Excuse me," I said as I pushed him out the way and ran toward my car.
I turned around to look and see if the man was OK. That’s when I saw the ugliest creature I have ever seen walking straight towards me! He's about 7 and-a-half feet, with huge, bulgy black eyes.
The strange part about this - the gas station is packed, but everyone acts as if they can't see this monster!
I turn around to run and...
...now I'm in some weird room with objects in the air, but not really in the air. I know sounds confusing but, that's what it is.
"Who are you, human?" a huge being with orange skin asked me.
"W-Who are you," I ask, "and where am I?"
"The question isn't where, but where and when. They are one and the same here..."
After Spatium heard Vin’s story, he knew that the Mastigi were somehow behind everything. However, with the death of his fellow Piereus, he lacked the manpower to combat this looming threat. Spatium didn’t believe in coincidences. He knew there was a connection, there was a reason why Vin had been brought to the Time Dimension. He decided to trust his instincts, and began to give Vin a lengthy summary of the events that had occurred.
Spatium knew that Vin would not be able to absorb the amount of cosmic knowledge being delivered to him. Therefore, Spatium secretly used the Laticus Infero, a portable machine similar to the Deus Infero, to modify Vin’s human brain enough to accept a small percentage of Cosmic Awareness.
(Excerpt from Sci-Fi Music: The Darth Prefectus Saga):
Spatium paused, then continued, "Vin, do not hesitate to tap into your Cosmic Awareness if you need to. There will be many who will try to manipulate your thoughts, even before you attempt to think. Your solutions must be certain and precise. There will be many forces and many entities who will attempt to ambush you, Vin. Your actions must be cold and ruthless, but calculated against enemy factions choose to ambush you, Vin."
"I will destroy those who have chosen to challenge me," I said through narrowing eyes.
I scoffed before continuing, "I can feel this new power coarsing through my veins! Ambush me? They won’t be able to Ambush Vin! I invite them to try. I won’t even give them a chance to strike. In fact, I’ll mock their efforts in their faces," I bragged.
“Do not be overconfident, Vin,” Spatium cautioned. “The Mastigi are strong. It will take more than just power to defeat them.”
I really wasn’t paying attention to Spatium. I was entranced by my newfound power.
Talking to myself, I muttered, “Ambush Vin, hmph.” I raised my voice and asked Spatium if he was ready to send me on a mission.
Ambush Vin, Cosmic-Enforcer-For-Hire, at your service...
Spatium then dispatched Ambush Vin to his first cosmic assignment, which led to The Battle for Darth Perfectus.
